Do you deliver or ship your pieces? It depends! If you live locally, we may be able to deliver your piece for a delivery fee. If you are not local, we may be able to ship smaller pieces. Unfortunately, larger pieces cannot be shipped out of state or to rural Alaska. If you need delivery or a shipment, contact us for more information.
-
Do you offer refunds or returns? We have a strict no-refund and no-return policy . We encourage you to inspect your piece before accepting it. For custom orders, we strongly encourage that you carefully consider stain and paint colors (feel free to stop by in person to view these!) as well as the size of the piece versus the size of your space. However, if you have recently purchased a piece (or had a Custom Order) and your item is defective within 30 days after you have received it, please contact us regarding a repair or replacement as we may be able to offer that to you at no charge and at our discretion. Defective pieces do not include those that were used for improper purposes or past their weight limits.

What is a "Custom Order"?Custom Orders refer to those which are built by Creekside Woodworks in accordance with the specific attributes you requested (e.g., finish, color, size, etc.) and are not readily available in “as is” condition for purchase.
-
What kind of Custom Orders do you make?It depends. We have done many custom orders, including bookshelves, video game organization systems, fireplace mantles, leaning wall shelves, and more. Contact us if you have an idea -- we may be able to help. If we do not believe we can reasonably accommodate your request due to complexity, we will let you know ahead of time.
-
How long does a Custom Order Take? I'm in a time crunch.Custom Orders take time. We do not want to rush an item and sacrifice quality for the sake of closing out an order sooner. We often do not give a definitive timeline for when an order will be completed. Instead, we provide estimates. If you need something finished by a particular date, please let us know and we can do our best to accommodate you if time and our other orders permit. Ideally, though, it is best for you to get your requests in as soon as possible!
-
How do I request a Custom Order? Please check the Request a Custom Order page for more information, or feel free to contact us.
-
Do you require a deposit for a Custom Order?Yes. Often times, custom orders are made with specific taste and spaces in mind that may not work for other people. This requires additional thought, effort, and planning. To secure your space in line for a custom order, we require a deposit of 30% of the item's value. The deposit must be paid in full, and you must sign a Custom Order Agreement, before Creekside Woodworks will begin any work on your Custom Order.
-
Is the deposit refundable? No. All deposits for Custom Orders are non-refundable. We realize that people may change their mind. However, deposits are non-refundable because once they are paid, Creekside Woodworks has set aside time to complete your particular project and began purchasing materials to build it. You will be asked to sign a Custom Order Agreement acknowledging this at the same time you pay your deposit.
-
I paid my deposit. When do I pay for the rest of my Custom Order?Once your deposit has been paid, the remaining balance of the cost of your Custom Order is due upon acceptance of the Custom Order (e.g., at pick-up, delivery, or at the time of shipping).
-
I've submitted my Request for Custom Order. Now what? Thanks for submitting your request! We will take a look and try to get back with you in 24-48 hours. If we think we can take your project on, we'll let you know and contact you to get some more information. If we can take your project, you will be asked to sign a Custom Order Agreement and pay a non-refundable deposit.

What should I know about the materials Creekside Woodworks uses?Creekside Woodworks uses a variety of wood types depending on the project. For example, if the project is for an outdoor swing, the wood may be treated. In the alternative, if the project is for a simple indoor shelf, it may be made from Pine or Douglas Fir. If you have particular questions about the materials used, please contact us. For Custom Orders, you may select the type of materials used, which will impact your total cost. No matter the material, Creekside Woodworks wants you to remember this: design, color, and other visual characteristics may vary! We encourage you to ask questions about the wood or finishing materials used, especially if you are trying to match it to an existing color in your home. It is often impossible to find a perfect match, but we can try to get as close as possible.
-
What kind of finish options are there? We can do a variety of finish options, including stained, painted, a combination of stained and painted, or unfinished. For "as-is" orders, these may not be customized. However, for Custom Orders, we strongly encourage our customers to check out the options we have or let us know what you're looking for. The final products may vary depending on the type of wood, the number of layers of finish, etc.
